Irene F. (Fleming) Pyer, 94, a resident of Dedham, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Pyer, Sr. Daughter of the late James F. and Mary A. (McDonald) Fleming, she was born in Boston, raised in Dorchester and educated in Boston schools. Irene resided in Dedham for the past 5 years after living in Brockton for many years. She was a homemaker.
Irene is survived by her children, Carol A. Van Dam and her husband Frank of Brockton and Robert S. Pyer, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Quincy. She was the grandmother of Kelly Howe, Christine Procaccini, Amy Thoms, James Van Dam, Scott Pyer, Brian Pyer, Patrick Pyer, Matthew Pyer and the late Kimberly Van Dam. She was the sister of the late Muriel Ambrosoli, Eleanor Donovan, Ann Martin and Robert Fleming. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will be private. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
