Iracema Teixeira

Iracema (Gonsalves) Teixeira, 82, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Lereno Teixeira. Born in Cape Verde, she came to the United States in 1981 and settled in Dorchester. She was a resident of Stoughton for the past 15 years. She worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed spending time at the Brockton Senior Center. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.

She was the mother of Joao Augusto Teixeira of FL, Maria da Luz Teixeira and Jorge Teixeira both of Stoughton, Carlos Alberto Teixeira of Taunton, Lisa dos Reis of NY, Alfredo Teixeira of Kenya and the late Maria H. DePina. She was the sister of Emely de Rosario Osvaldo Rosario, Alfredo Rosario, Elizabeth Cruz, and Jose da Viega all of Dorchester, Liana Pires, Ana Maria Pires, Artur Cruz and Catarina Sena Vieira all of Roxbury, Laura daSilva of FL, Maria deFatima fo Randolph, Antero Cruz of Brockton, Brimira Cruz of Cambridge, Dulece Cruz of Cape Verde and the late Heleno Cruz. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
