Ida M. (Vanhorn) Giannone, age 67 passed away unexpectedly at her home in Stoughton on Sunday April 14, 2024. She was the dear wife to Charles E. Giannone for 40 loving years. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Mary (Asimakopoulos) Vanhorn and the late Donald Vanhorn. She was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a longtime resident for over 50 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, tending to her home and raising her family. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and gardening, and took great pleasure in taking care of her many plants out in the yard. She loved nature and would even go fishing every once and a while, relishing in the outdoors. She was an avid dog lover and rescued many furry companions and gave them a happy life. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Ida is survived by her children Justine Vanhorn of Canada and Frank Giannone of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Corey Vanhorn. She is also survived by her siblings, Donna Berger, Michael Vanhorn, Donald Vanhorn, and Maryanne Vanhorn.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Monday April 22nd from 10-12 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ida’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
