Hopeton G. Marsh

Hopeton G. Marsh, 90, died peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2018. He was the husband of the late Nancy (Anderson) Marsh. Born in St. Mary's Parish, Jamaica, he came to the States during World War II and worked as a migrant worker. He resided in several states before settling in the Hudson Valley Region of New York where he has been a long time resident of Pleasant Valley for over 40 years.

Mr. Marsh worked for several companies through the Laborer's Union Local 1000 in Poughkeepsie, NY, notably the Sun Up Enterprises, Inc. He was an avid baseball fan of the New York Mets. In his free time, he enjoyed working in his yard and tending to his vegetable garden. He could always find some tree to trim or weed to pull.

Mr. Marsh is survived by his children; Penny M. Harrison and her husband Patrick of Randolph, MA, Holly M. Barbee and her husband Anthony of Lexington, KY, Beverly Marsh of England, Desmond Marsh of Jamaica and Hopeton Marsh II of NY. He was the brother of Thomas Marsh of Jamaica and was predeceased by 4 sisters.
