Herman Edward Klein

Herman Edward Klein, Jr., 88, a lifelong resident of Newton, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, March 18. Son of the late Herman E. and Mary (Husband) Klein, he was born and raised in Newton. Mr. Klein was a Private 1st Class in the U.S. Marine Corps and a Veteran of World War II. He served a 3 year tour as a member of the 155MM Howitzer Battalion serving in Okinawa. Mr. Klein was a chemical engineer for the U.S. Government for over 30 years. He took early retirement in 1978 to take care of his mother. He enjoyed working out at home and healthy living. He also enjoyed weekly luncheons with his brother Bill at Patty's Pub in W. Newton and Legal Seafood in Chestnut Hill.

Mr. Klein is survived by his brother, William G. Klein and his wife Marjorie of Stoughton, as well as his nieces, Linda Klein of CO and Ann Brown and her husband Paul of Needham.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 22 at 11 AM. Visitation prior from 10-11 AM. Family graveside services will take place at Newton Cemetery, Newton.
