Henry Pires, 88, a resident of Braintree, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at his daughter's home in Braintree, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Daneault) Pires. Born in Stoughton, son of the late Joseph and Caroline Pires, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. Mr. Pires was a resident of Braintree for the past 14 years, formerly living in Stoughton. He was the former owner of Pearl Cleaners in Stoughton for many years and was an expert presser. Mr. Pires was a member of the Widow and Widowers Club of Braintree and was a skilled dancer with his partner Ester Salvage. A lifelong Patriot Fan, he loved to turn trash to treasure. He was a daily communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Braintree. Henry cherished his time spent with friends at McDonald's in Stoughton. There, he was surrounded by friends who shared a contagious laugh and love for life. Henry will be remembered for his forgiving soul, great sense of humor and kind, loving ways.

The Pires family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff on the 2nd Floor at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital in Brockton for the dignified and professional care they received.

Henry is survived by his children; Henry Pires, Jr. and his wife Debbi of Rehoboth, Mark Pires and his wife Nancy of Easton and Karen Aiello and her husband Ronald of Braintree. He was the loving grandfather of Andrea Pires, Laura Pires, Kristina Pires, Anthony Aiello, Kristen Aiello, Ashley McCaffrey and Nichole DaRosa. He was the dear brother of John Pires and his wife Marilyn, Anthony "Butch" Pires of Stoughton and the late Joseph Pires, Mary Silva and Constance Azevedo. He was predeceased by his sister in law Nancy Pires, brother in law John Silva and his longtime companion Jean Babcock. He is also survived by his sister in law Elizabeth Pires of Stoughton, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-8 PM. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Henry's memory may be made to his favorite charity of the past 30 years, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
