Henry J. "Hank" Hudson, 62, a longtime Boston Firefighter, Engine 21, Dorchester, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of 43 years of Maryanne E. (Aldred) Hudson. Mr. Hudson was born in Boston, raised in Jamaica Plain and attended Jamaica Plain Schools. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Hudson worked as a firefighter for the Boston Fire Department for 28 years with Engine 21 in Dorchester, retiring January 31, 1999. He was a member of Firefighters Local 718 and Florian Hall in Boston. In his free time, he enjoyed gambling, sports, dancing, spending time with his family and making people laugh.
In addition to his wife Maryanne, he is survived by his son Michael of Braintree and his daughter Gina Hudson of Easton. He was the grandfather of Jake, Colin and Kayla. Hank was the brother of Bob Hudson & Jimmy Hudson of FL, Billy Hudson of VA, Richie Hudson, Lil Faust, Alice Pedro and Barbara Chase all of Stoughton and the late Ron, Sonny and Paul Hudson, Dolly Gabree and Jean Harvey. He was the brother in law of Elaine, Marilyn, Ginny & Paul and the late Sonny & Bobby.
Funeral prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 3 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Donations in Hank's name may be made to the Boston Fire Dept. Mutual Relief, 115 Southampton St., Boston 02118. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury.
