Helen L. (Gray) Gibbons, 72, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly July 3 at her home. Born in Brockton, she was raised in Randolph and was a graduate of Randolph Schools. Mrs. Gibbons worked as a Service Clerk in the Deli at Shaw's Market for over 15 years, retiring in 2002. An avid gardener, in her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo, traveling to New Hampshire and Maine and visiting the Fryeburg Fair. She also enjoyed music, singing and collecting music boxes.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie A. Gay of East Falmouth, and her three sons, Thomas M. "Bear" Gibbons Jr. of Middleboro, Michael F. Gibbons of Whitman and Daniel W. Gibbons of Stoughton. She was the sister of William Gray of NC. Mrs. Gibbons is also survived by her 6 grandchildren and several friends including Ida, Alvin and Bianca.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, July 8 at 12 AM Visiting Hours prior to service from 10-12 PM. Donations in Helen's name may be made to Joslin Diabetes Clinic, 1 Joslin Pl., Boston, MA 02115
