Helen M. (Homer) Egerton, 80, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 24, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Russell F. Egerton for 57 years. Born in Stoughton, she was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1958 and earned her Associate Degree from Massachusetts Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Helen was a Registered Nurse at several area hospitals and at Orthopedic Associates in Brockton for many years. She enjoyed knitting, reading and camping.
In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by her sons, Stephen R. Egerton and his spouse Casey of Littleton and Michael J. Egerton and his spouse Scott Poleo of Boston, as well as her grandchildren, Sophia and Elise Egerton. She was the sister of George Homer of Durham, ME and Jeffrey Homer of Sequatchie, TN and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, private family services will be held. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. Donations in Helen's name may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
