Helen (Stephansky) Abbott

Helen S. (Stephansky) Abbott, 97, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Serenity Hill Nursing Home in Wrentham. She was the wife of the late Herbert Abbott. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Roxbury and was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. For the past 10 she lived with her niece Joan Tregoning and her husband John in Franklin. Previously, she was a resident of Roslindale, Brookline and Randolph, NH. Mrs. Abbott worked as an administrative assistant at the Harvard University Observatory for many years. She also worked at the Appalachian Mountain Club. She retired many years ago. She was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in Nature. She also loved astronomy and reading.

Mrs. Abbott was the sister of the late Albert Stevens, Louis Stephansky, Florence Whalen, Lillian Mosgofian, Alice Logue, Walter Stephansky and Marie Stephansky. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date. Donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Massachusetts Comission for the Blind, 600 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111. Arrangements by Farley Funeral Home, Stoughton.
