Healy A. "Skip" Nowe, Jr., 83, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Geraldine A. (Snyder) Nowe. Born in Everett, Skip was raised and educated in the Everett and Malden area. He was a resident of Brockton for the past 15 years, previously living in Stoughton for many years. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean Era. He worked as a Dispatcher for Amtrak in Boston for over 28 years, retiring many years ago. Skip was a member of the Rising Star Lodge in Stoughton and active in the Order of Eastern Star and was a Past Worthy Grand Patron of Massachusetts. He enjoyed raising and training race horses and in his free time, enjoyed traveling and playing Keno.
Mr. Nowe is survived by his children; Paul T. Gallagher, Jr. of Salisbury, Bonnie C. Childs of Kentucky, Linda L. Nowe of Brockton, Cathy A. Cleveland of Georgia, Cheryl A. Bullis of Norton, Michael J. Nowe of New Hampshire and the late John J. Gallagher. He was the brother of John J. "Jack" Burnham of Malden and the late Emery Burnham. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner St., Stoughton on Saturday, June 25 at 10 AM. Burial will be held in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday from 5-8 PM. Donations in Skip's memory may be made to Grand Chapter of MA, Order of Eastern Star, PO Box 600583, Newtonville, MA 02460-0006 and in the memo line state Educational Fund in Memory of Skip Nowe.
