Harry Sera, 89, died Monday, November 28, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, after a period of declining health. Born and raised in Hyde Park, he attended Hyde Park Schools. As a young man, Harry worked as a Mason’s Assistant and laborer, helping to build several of the stone bridges in Boston. Harry was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1952-1954. In June 1956, he married Margaret E. Bronsdon, and together they shared over 65 years of marriage and raised three beloved sons, before her death in 2012. They raised their family in Randolph and later moved to Holbrook for 10 years before moving to Raynham over 20 years ago. Harry worked as a plumber for many years, for R. P. Holmes, Carl Johnson and later for his son’s Steve’s plumbing company. He retired in 1995. Harry enjoyed traveling and treasured his trips to Italy and to Disney with his family and also his cruises, especially to Alaska. In is free time he enjoyed working in his yard and helping family and friends with home projects and spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Husband of the late Margaret E. (Bronsdon) Sera, he is survived by his three sons and their wives, Stephen H. Sera and his wife Debbie of Randolph, David A. Sera and his wife Linda of Weymouth and Richard M. Sera and his wife Nancy of FL. He was the brother of Joseph Sera of Norfolk, Anthony Sera of AZ, Mary Mayer of Rockland, Connie Mancini and Camilla Fountain, both of PA or the late Evelyn Zwartz, James, Samuel and Peter Sera, Rosie Webb, and John and Paul Sera. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 4-7 PM. Memorial Prayers will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
