Guy Jean Marie "Guyto" Assad, 66, died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Boston Medical Center in Boston after a period of failing health. He was the husband of 38 years of Rosalina (Simon) Assad. Born in Gonaives, Haiti in May 10th 1950 to Francois and Anasta Assad, he was raised and educated in Haiti. He was a graduate of the Universite LeConte d'Haiti in Port-au-Prince Haiti. He worked as a Civil Engineer at the Ministere Des Travaux Publics in Haiti for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, learning about good health habits. He particularly enjoyed raising chickens. Geopolitical and World History matters and issues were generally his favorite topic.
Guyto was a philanthropist at heart. He would never hesitate to share with the less fortunate. Many could confess how he helped them without expecting much in return. He is dearly missed by his love ones and friends who celebrate the fact that he's at peace with his creator.
In addition, he is survived by his mother Anasta Louis Assad, his three children; Guy J. Aser Assad of FL, Maria Gabelita Assad Arnoux of Haiti and Guy Jean-Marie Assad Jr of CA. He was the brother of Jean Fritz Assad, Abdallah Assad and Mardochee Assad St. Amand all of Haiti, Jean Claude Assad of MS, Fanfan Assad and Marguerite Tagaure Assad Grammont both of MD, Franche Murat Assad and Carine Assad both of Brockton and the late Gabelita Assad. He was the grandfather of Tariq Assad, Tamir Assad and Roxann Arnoux. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Randolph at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
A family and friend gathering will take place right after the interment to commemorate and celebrate the life of our
Dearly departed. The bereavement luncheon will happen at The Lantana Cafe located at 43 Scanlon Drive in Randolph MA 02368.
