Gregory P. Barron

Gregory P. Barron, 67, originally from Hyde Park currently of Stoughton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 23, at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.

Gregory served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1974. His duties were as Military Police/Correction Officer. He attended Northeastern University and received his degree in Early Childhood Development from Wheelock College. With that, he became an early childhood teacher at Snap Headstart in Boston's South end. This was the pride of his life. He touched many lives in that role. He later became education director, responsible for supervision of teaching staff and development of curriculum. After retiring from education, he worked at Best Buy as the loss prevention supervisor and appliance department expert. In his more recent years, Greg worked in sales at the Mill Store and Ace Hardware in Canton, MA.

Greg had a strong love for sports, no matter if he was watching or playing. From baseball to hockey, basketball, tennis, he played them all. He loved being at the ocean, especially Nantasket Beach, where he often would spend the day as a young boy with his family. Music was an astronomical part of his life...All kinds of music. And he also played the guitar and fiddled with the keyboard. In his later years, he actually became an artist and was so proud of his sketches, thanks to his niece Nicole.

He was loved by many, for so many reasons. He will be greatly missed!

Gregory is survived by his wife Carol Barron of Brockton; his only daughter Ashley Barron & her partner Giovanni Nuñoz of Mansfield; his mother Betty (Dann) Barron; and 2 step sons Malcolm Albert of Brockton and Malik Albert & wife Urara of Atlanta, GA. He was the grandfather of Malcom Jr., Alexis, Musashi, Quincy, Sakura, Justice, Nicole, Natsumi, Hayato and Harmony. Great-grandfather to Romilius and Zephira. He was brother to Cheryl Marinelli & her husband Louis of Attleboro and uncle to Nicole Papa and Melissa Raneiri. He is pre-deceased by his father the late George Barron.
