Gisela I. Schneemann, 71, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 after a brief period of failing health. She was born in Köningsburg, Germany and was raised and educated in Altheim, Germany. In 1966 she moved to the United States and became a resident of Canton in 1968. Gisela was a homemaker and also worked as seamstress. She was a member of the Port Norfolk Yacht Club in Dorchester. Gisela lived a fascinating life full of history and amazing stories. She was very caring and known to many just as Mom because of her warm heart. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, and cooking. She also enjoyed traveling, road trips and nature. Gisela loved animals, and enjoyed both wild life and bird watching.

Gisela was the daughter of the late Margarete Hendorfer and Paul Schneemann. She is survived by her daughter, Christina R. Pardy of Canton, MA, her brother Peter Seelert and sister-in-law Hanne, and her sister Elfriede Sawochtschenko and brother-in-law Harry. Gisela was predeceased by her sister Doris Pfaus, and brothers Karlheinz and Hans Schneemann, all of Germany. She is also survived by John Pardy and his family, several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, April 6 at 12 Noon. Visiting Hours prior to services starting at 10 AM. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd., Unit 400, Waltham, MA 02451 or www.lung.org/associations/charters/northeast/. For those desiring to send flowers, Gisela's family has requested that plants be sent for a memorial garden.
