Gina Marie (Cuzzone) Kaufman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020, at the age of 53.
Gina was born in Northampton, Massachusetts, and grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where she met her soulmate and husband, Clay Kaufman. A short time later, they said "I do" on a Colorado mountain top. They spent the next three decades raising their children, working together, creating family traditions, living all over the country, and traveling the world. Until her health declined, Gina lived like most people only dream. With an infectious laugh, she created family traditions, spur-of-the-moment excitement, fireside conversations with family and friends, game nights, and weekend getaways riding quads through the desert. Family time filled every weekend. Gina was known for her epic children's birthday parties and unforgettable adult ones. Raising two extraordinary children was her greatest pride. Gina was also a modern renaissance woman: businesswoman, dog whisperer, master crafter, chef, baker, mechanic, and family tax preparer. Gina never met a problem she couldn't master before lunchtime.
Gina will be remembered by her husband and best friend Clay Kaufman of Gilbert, Arizona; their children, Zackary "Zak" Kaufman and Christina "Nina" Kaufman; her mother Patricia Izzo; her brother and sister Nick Izzo, III and Beth Cuzzone; her father, Nick Izzo, Jr.; her nieces Kenna O'Donnell and Kayden Izzo; and her in-laws Dan and Micki Kaufman. Predeceasing Gina is Paul K. Cuzzone and her grandparents, Fredrick "Papa" and Helen "Gram" Corbett, whom she adored. Gina will also be remembered by her extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street, Stoughton, Massachusetts, on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The family asks to please consider in lieu of flowers, donating in Gina's memory to the Cancer Research Institute, Web Donation, 29 Broadway, Floor 4, New York, NY 10006-3111.
