Gertrude H. Peters

Gertrude H. (McKay) Peters, 102, died at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton on Sunday, June 1, 2014. She was the wife of the late Jay Peters. Born in Stoughton, she was a lifelong resident of Stoughton before moving to Brockton a few years ago. She was a graduate of Stoughton schools. Mrs. Peters was the owner and hairdresser at Gertrude's in East Bridgewater. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Guild at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and enjoyed rug braiding and embroidering.
Mrs. Peters was the sister of Helen Stashis of Florida, the twin sister of the late Mildred P. McKay and the step-sister of the late Vetie Leedham. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, June 5 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 9:30-10 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Gertrude's memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
