He was cherished as a 'second Dad' by Patricia Milani and Sandra Navin.
Born and raised in Berlin, NH, the son of George & Helen White, he was a longtime resident of Newton and Brockton, MA, and more recently resided in Stoughton.
After graduating from Berlin High School in 1942, he joined the Army and proudly served his country during World War II. While in Washington DC during his service, he met Dorothy from his home town of Berlin, fell in love and married her when his service was complete. He worked as a machinist foreman his entire career.
George was an avid sports fan, loved to bowl and maintained his average well into his eighties. Deeply religious, he never missed weekly Mass and found great comfort in his faith.
He had a lifetime love for dogs and they with him. Visits with Olive and Bela brought him great joy. Always the gentleman, he never complained, had a ready smile, a great sense of humor and a kindness to everyone. He will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
All are invited to a celebration of George's life at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Saturday, December 17 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-7 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to My Brother's Keeper, P.O. Box 338, North Easton, MA 02356.
