George W. "Kingfish" Stevenson, 94, a lifelong resident of Sharon, died at his home in Sharon on Sunday, October 20. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Collins) Stevenson. Born and raised in Sharon, he was a graduate of Sharon High School in 1938. Mr. Stevenson was a Veteran of the US Army Air Corps. He worked for Boston Edison for many years and retired at age 67 as an Inspector. Mr. Stevenson was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon and was a longtime member of the Choir and was the Past President of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 106, VFW Post 7238, the Sharon Community Chorus, the Sharon Historical Society and was the Past President of the Sharon Bowling League. He was an avid sports fan and was a Patriots season ticket holder for many years.
Mr. Stevenson was the father of Joanne Russell and her husband Paul of Medway and the late Karen M. Nascenzi. He was the father-in-law of Paul Nascenzi and his wife Julie of Sharon and the grandfather of Nicole M. Nascenzi, Corey J. Nascenzi, Amy R. Russell and James C. Russell. He was the Great grandfather of Umbria M. Brimenzi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held in the Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage St., Sharon at on Wednesday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.
