George S. Sarados, 83, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died on his 83rd birthday Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton, surrounded by his family and friends. He was the devoted husband of many years of the late Catherine (Erminy) Sarados, who predeceased him just over 2 years ago. Born and raised in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1952, where he was active in various team sports. He was a standout high school athlete and was a proud member of the Stoughton High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a graduate of Northeastern University and became a Certified Public Accountant. In 1959, he joined the United States Army and served 3 years, earning the rank of Sergeant. He then obtained his law degree from Suffolk University Law School and established his own law practice in Stoughton, where he practiced law for over 40 years. He retired in 2006. For many years, he was the director of St. Chrysostom Society, a scholarship program for high school students. George and his wife were founding members of the St. Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church in Mansfield, where they were active church members. Family, friends and clients all remember him fondly as a man devoted to his faith, who was generous with his time and resources and a willingness to assist those in need.
Atty. Sarados was the brother of Patricia Moschides of N. Attleboro and the late Dorothy Lapsley, Christine Pantsos and Irene Sarados. He was the uncle of Chrissy Fitzgerald, Dorothy Hersey, Michael Pantsos and Michael Moschides.
Funeral services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 2 at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the service from 9:30-11:30 AM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in George's memory may be made to the St. Gregory the Theologian Orthodox Church, 1007 West St, Mansfield, MA 02048.
