George L. Rogers, 59, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, with his family by his side after a period of declining health. Son of the late Eleanor "Ellie" (Morris) and Edward Rogers, he was born in California and raised in the Roxbury and Dorchester areas of Boston. George cherished the friends he made in his childhood neighborhoods; beautiful friendships that would last throughout his life.
He was a graduate of Dorchester High School and was a foreman for Keolis Commuter Services (formerly Mass Bay Commuter Rail) for over 30 years. George loved his "railroad family" and was known to co-workers as being hard-working, loyal, and kind. He was an avid Boston sports fan and achieved his lifelong dream of being a Bruins season ticket holder.
George is survived by his loving daughter, Nicole A. Rogers of Bridgewater, who was the light of his life and his pride and joy. He was the brother of Thomas Rogers and his wife Lisa of Plainville, the late Joanne Rogers of South Boston, and his dear friend Karen Lamie of Bridgewater. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss his sense of humor, his amazing cooking skills, and the light and happiness he brought everywhere he went.
Graveside Service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1100 Washington St., Stoughton on Tuesday, November 9 at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday from 4-7 PM. Donations in George's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
