George Calvin Lantz of Stoughton, MA, formerly of Randolph, Brockton and Hyde Park, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on February 8, 2006 at 72 years young. Educated in Hyde Park, George served on the front lines in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. As an educator, he taught graphic arts & managed the bus program at the Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Dorchester before retiring. He is fondly remembered for his humor, wit and insight by thousands of Boston area students.
Mr. Lantz was the loving son of the late Ernest Lantz & Georgia (Nogler) Lantz of Hyde Park and late brother Fred Lantz of Brockton. He is survived by his sisters, Ruth Colon of Wollaston and Reta Jane Nickerson of Stoughton, two daughters, Kimberly Paulin of Weymouth and Kellie Lantz of Cohasset and one granddaughter, Nicole Lantz of Weymouth; four nephews and three nieces; three grand-nephews and five grand-nieces. He will be sadly missed by his family.
A graveside service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams St., Dorchester on Wednesday, February 15 at 10 AM. Donations in George's name may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Ctr., 1 Joslin Place, Boston, 02215 (website www.joslin.org).
