George E. Eichorn

George E. Eichorn, 70, died Saturday, August 18 at his home in Stoughton. He was 70 years old. Mr. Eichorn was the husband of Janet V. (Metcalf) Eichorn. Mr. Eichorn was a longtime resident of Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton High School, class of 1956 and also Brockton Trade School. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Eichorn was the owner of George E. Eichorn Company, Inc. & also Blue Ridge Equipment Co. working in masonry & general contracting for many years. He was a clerk of the works on a number of projects in Massachusetts. Mr. Eichorn was involved in Stoughton town government, including the zoning board of appeals and was the former town assessor. He also served on Southeastern Regional Vocational Tech. High School Committee. He also worked as a Real estate broker for Caldwell Banker Broker. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and was an avid Red Sox & Patriots fan.

In addition to his wife Janet, he is survived by his mother Mary M. (Smith) of Stoughton and his sister Barbara Cunningham of Stoughton. He was the uncle of David & Brian Cunningham, Michael Metcalf, Christine O'Brien, Samatha DaCosta and Gregg Metcalf. He was also the Brother-in-law of Philip M. & Joan Metcalf and Frances E. Metcalf. He is also survived by several great nieces & nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, Inc. 358 Park St. (Rte 27), Stoughton Wednesday, August 22 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Donations may be made to Caritas Good Samaritan Hospice or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
