Frederick J. King, 91, died Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Braemoor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Ellen V. (Rice) King. Born and raised in South Boston, he attended South Boston Schools. Mr. King was a World War II Veteran of the US Navy. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1968. Mr. King worked as a steelworker for the New England Road Machinery Co. for 40 years, retiring several years ago. Mr. King was a member of the Shopmans Union for 40 years and a member of the VFW and Lions Club both in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed watching TV, including bowling, legal shows and the Red Sox.
He is survived by his children; John P. King of Stoughton, Christopher F. King of Taunton and Terri L. Manning of FL. He was the brother of George of FL, Lorraine DiGroce of Waltham and the late William King. He is also survived by his grandchildren : Hillary and Ryan King, Michael & Leellen King, and Kristie, Timothy, Shannon, Colleen & Michelle Manning.
Funeral Services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, December 28 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
