Frank H. Simonds, Jr., 71, a longtime resident of Avon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Deborah A. (Gross) Simonds. Born in Brockton, Frank was raised in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1964. After graduation he enlisted in the military, serving in the United States Navy for 33 years where he retired as a Commander in 1997.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his son, Frank H. Simonds, III & his wife Cindy of Crossville, TN. He was the son of the late Frank H. Simonds and Elizabeth V. (Davin) Haddigan and the stepson of the late Dorothy I. Simonds. He was the brother of Marlene Giammarco of Stoughton, Frankie Ann Reilly & her husband David of Raynham, Madeline Barker of Florida and the late Robert Simonds, Priscilla Clark and Dorothy Perdigao. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral will be held at from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Thursday, July 12 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Michael Church, Avon at 11 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in Frank's name may be made to the MSPCA, 350 S.
