Frank J. Montesano, 85, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Sunday, August 21, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Annette M. (Dew) Montesano for 62 years. Son of the late Joseph and Anna (Sherkus) Montesano, he was born and raised in Dorchester. He was a graduate of Hyde Park High School, Class of 1948 and Northeastern University, Class of 1959. Frank was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and a Veteran of the Korean Era. He was a resident of Stoughton for the past 50 years. Mr. Montesano was an insurance broker at Fairfield and Ellis in Boston for 28 years before becoming Vice President at Sedgwick James in Boston, where he worked for 20 years until his retirement 20 years ago. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member and Past President at Sharon Country Club. He coached both Stoughton Little League and Stoughton Youth Hockey for many years.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his children, Steven J. Montesano and his wife Theresa of Foxboro, Susan A. Hinds and her husband Richard of Bridgewater and Gregory J. Montesano and his wife Roxanne of West Bridgewater. He was grandfather of Richard Hinds, Jacquelyn Beaudoin, Rachel Montesano, Matthew Montesano and Timothy Hinds and brother of Joanne Hayes of Randolph, Virginia McCarron and her husband Jim of Dorchester and Linda Montesano of Newton. He was the brother-in-law of Herbert Dew and his wife Carol of Georgia, Virginia Anderson and her husband John of South Carolina, Christine Dew of Florida and the late Patricia Callahan and her husband Joe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, August 26 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to American Heart Assn., PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
