Frank E. Jardin, 91, a longtime resident of North Easton, died peacefully at Copley at Stoughton on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Betty A. (Cowgill) Jardin for 63 years. Son of the late Moses and Isabel (Leca) Jardin, he was born and raised in Stoughton. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1951 and Northeastern University, Class of 1960. He earned his Master’s Degree from Bridgewater State College. Between high school and college, Frank served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He resided in Easton for 55 years.
Frank was a school teacher at Stoughton High School for 10 years and a guidance counselor at Oliver Ames High School for 24 years before retiring in 1994. He was a coach for the first Bridgewater State College football team in 1960 and coached football at Stoughton High for a number of years. He was a member of the Massachusetts School Counselors Association, the VFW Post 2547 in Easton and the American Legion Post 89 in Stoughton. Frank was inducted into the Stoughton High School Athletic Hall of Fame and was a longtime high school and college football referee. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed working out at Easton Fitness. He also enjoyed playing cribbage and poker with his wife as well as traveling, especially to Madeira, Portugal and Germany. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels in Easton for several years.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his children, Matthew E. Jardin and his companion Leanne Condon of Holbrook and Maureen A. Jardin of Easton. He was the brother of Lourdes Silva of Connecticut, Mary Cleary of West Bridgewater, Isabelle Murphy of Florida and the late Moses Jardin, Anthony Jardin and William “Bally” Jardin.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, April 16th from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass at will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main St., North Easton on Wednesday, April 17th at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
