Francisco F. Garcia, 66, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 21, at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of 41 years of Maria Alzira (Teixeira) Garcia. Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal, he was raised in Faial, Azores. He came to the United States in 1966 and settled in Stoughton. Mr. Garcia worked in the Shipping Department for Morse Shoe in Canton for many years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Club Luis de Camoes, San Joao Filharmonic Society and the Holy Ghost Society of the Azores all in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed visiting the Blue Hills and Houghton's Pond, spending time at the ocean and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Frank T. Garcia and his wife Donna of Stoughton, as well as his step-grandson, Anthony. He was the brother of Jose Garcia, Maria Santos, David Garcia and Mateus Garcia all of Stoughton, Norberta Santos of Brockton, Manuel Garcia of CA, Olivia Garcia of Raynham and the late Joao Garcia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, December 27 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
