Francisco Freitas

Francisco Freitas, 80, died unexpectedly at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, January 1. He was the husband of the late Luisa (Martins) Freitas. Born and educated in Azores, Portugal, Mr. Freitas moved to Stoughton in 1962. He worked as a laborer at Morse Shoe in Canton for 10 years before retiring in 1990. Mr. Freitas enjoyed gardening, especially his grapes, in his free time.

Mr. Freitas was the father of Jose T. Freitas of Stoughton, Leontina M. Freitas and Noemia M. Batista both of Canada, Samuel Freitas of Taunton and the late Noe Freitas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, January 5 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Service at the Portuguese Seventh Day Adventist Church, 65 W. Elm St., Brockton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.
