Francis William Scarpaci, Jr., 75, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Saturday, February 14, 2025 at the AccentCare Hospice in Milton, after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Hyde Park, son of the late Francis W. and Marjorie (Potts) Scarpaci, he was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. Frank was a longtime employee of the Stoughton Public Works Department and worked in the Water Department, retiring in 2005 at the age of 55. He also worked as a cook at the Town Spa in Stoughton for many years. Previously, he worked at Harwich Lithograph in Hyde Park.
Frank was an avid collector of coins, trading cards and classic comic books and other memorabilia and was a member of American Numismatic Association. He enjoyed traveling to the American Numismatic Association Annual Conventions. Frank was a Member and Bond Holder at the C. W. Welch Memorial Fish & Game Reserve in Stoughton and a Life Member of the NRA. He was also the Past Secretary and Past President of the Stoughton Lions Club. Frank was a wizard at trivia and had extensive knowledge of movies, TV and 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music.
Frank was the brother of William Scarpaci of OH, Debra Scarpaci of FL and the late Michael Scarpaci and Michelle Scarpaci. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Central St., Stoughton on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11 AM. Donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the North Attleboro Animal Shelter, 40 Cedar Rd., North Attleboro, MA 02763 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
