Francis H. Hayes

Francis H. Hayes, 77, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton on Tuesday, July 26 after a period of failing health. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara L. (Sayers) Hayes. Born in Dighton, he was a resident of Stoughton since 1959. Mr. Hayes was a graduate of Northeastern University. He was an engineer at Nu Vacuum Systems in Hingham and Kingston for over 40 years before retiring in 2002. In his free time he enjoyed hiking and antique cars.
Mr. Hayes was the beloved father of Francis H. Hayes, Jr. of Norton, Theresa M. Barer and Amy-Sue Hayes both of Taunton, Judith A. Tessler of Carver and Amber-Jean Fuller of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Jason and Brehan Hayes, Amanda and Robert Fuller, David Barer and Frank, Samantha and Andrew Tessler. He was the brother of Gerry of MI, Timothy of Duxbury, Madeline and Ann both of FL, Rosemary of ME and the late Robert. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park, 321 High St., Canton on Tuesday, August 2 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Francis' memory may be made to the American Lung Assn., 460 Totten Pond Rd., Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451 or the charity of your choice.
