Francis X. Grover

Francis X. Grover, 76, a Retired Police Officer in the Town of Stoughton, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of 41 years of Sandra A. (Sousa) Grover. Born and raised in Canton, he was a graduate of Canton Schools. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 40 years. Mr. Grover worked as a Police Officer for the Town of Stoughton for over 32 years, retiring at the rank of Sergeant in 1999. He was the Canine Officer for several years. Mr. Grover was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods, playing poker, fishing, computers and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, Francis X. Grover, Jr. of NJ, Linda A. Conley of Holbrook, John F. Grover and Christopher J. Grover (Stoughton PD) and his wife Kimberly all of Stoughton and Paul D. Meninno of Clinton. He was predeceased by his children William A. Grover and Darlene M. Grover. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside Services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Washington St., Stoughton on Friday, June 4 at 10 AM. Family and Friends will be assembling at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., Stoughton prior to services at 9AM. Funeral prayers will be offered Thursday Evening at 8 PM in the Funeral Home. Visiting Hours prior to prayers from 4-8 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Stoughton Patrolman's Association, 26 Rose St., Stoughton, 02072.
