Francis A. Crawford, 97, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Baypointe Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was the husband of Annie A. (Dykens) Crawford for 73 years. Born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, he was a graduate of South Boston High School. Mr. Crawford was a Machinist's Mate 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II. He was a tool and die maker at Boston Cutting Die Company in Dorchester for over 45 years before retiring 32 years ago. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Crawford was the father of Robert Crawford and his wife Joanne of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Ernest Crawford and his fiance Diane Allen of Stoughton, Janice Carroll and her husband Ed of Gilmanton, NH and the late Frank Crawford, Jr., as well as the father-in-law of Sophia Crawford of Big Spring, TX. He was the grandfather of George, Ernest, Deborah, Terri, Christine, Michael, Megan and Matthew and is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, May 8 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to the D.A.V., 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
