Frances (Mitkievicz) Stoddard, 96, a resident of Milwaukee, WI, died peacefully at St. Anne's Nursing Home in Milwaukee, WI on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was the wife of the late William "Brad" Stoddard. Born in Canton, she was raised in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School. She also graduated from Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in Boston. Frances was a resident of Easton for over 50 years before moving to Milwaukee 6 years ago. She was a dental hygienist at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton for over 10 years before retiring in 1983. Upon her retirement, she continued her education by earning her Bachelor's Degree from Bridgewater State University. Mrs. Stoddard then taught English to Cape Verdean immigrants in Brockton. She also volunteered at Borderland State Park in Easton. She was an avid reader and enjoyed art.
Frances is survived by her sons, Charles K. Stoddard of Arizona and his late wife Susan Zito and Peter E. Stoddard and his wife Sally Mrkvicka of Wisconsin. She was the grandmother of Emily (Stoddard) Nicolai, Abigail Stoddard and Jezerick Gaddourra and the great-grandmother of Colin J. Nicolai. She was the sister of the late Leo Mitkievicz and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. and (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, March 31 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frances' memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
