Frances Jean (Bailey) Haffermehl, 74, of Stoughton, formerly of Canton, died Wednesday, June 24, at the Brockton Hospital in Brockton after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John S. "Johnny Flowers" Haffermehl. Born in Norwood, she was raised in Walpole and was a graduate of Walpole High School, Class of 1953. Along with her husband, she was the co-owner and manager of Canton Greenhouses in Canton for many years. She retired several years ago. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters: Deborah Homer of Stoughton, Brenda Vieira of Holbrook and Andrea Williams of Stoughton. She was the sister of Eileen Kuszynski, Thomas Bailey, John Bailey, and William Bailey all of Walpole, Anna Norton of Medfield, Kathleen Knoll of Wareham and the late James Bailey and Robert Bailey. She was the devoted grandmother of 5 and also had one great grandchild. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her beloved friends Tina and Joseph Sbardella of Stoughton. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior to service from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Pl., Memphis TN, 38105.
