Floyd O. Craft

Floyd O. Craft, 74, died Thursday, November 15, at the Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge. He was the husband of Bettye M. (Morgan) Craft of Avon. Mr. Craft was born, raised and educated in Wyco, WV and was a graduate of Wyco Schools. He was also a graduate of Blue Hill State University in West Virginia. He was a resident of Avon for over 25 years. Mr. Craft worked as a Medical Researcher for Boston University for over 35 years and retired in 2008. He was an active member of the Concord Baptist Church in Milton and served as a Deacon and Director of the Musical Department and the Transportation Department. He was a former longtime coach of the Dorchester Little League. An avid sports fan, in his free time, he enjoyed fishing, boating and watching his children play sports.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Terry O. Craft of Brockton, Juan E. Craft of RI and Michael M. Craft of Taunton. He was the brother of Francis Cunningham of MD, Mary Baker of FL, Joseph Craft of VA and the late Jessie Craft, Jr. and David Craft. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashley Craft, Tyrel Craft and Shaun Craft and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Concord Baptist Church, 180 Blue Hill Ave., Milton on Saturday, November 24, at 11AM. Visiting Hours prior to services from 10- 11 AM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445 or to the Church of the Living God, 227 Main St., Avon, MA 02322.
