Florence F. (Minuchi) Smith, 80, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the home of her daughter after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Chester Smith. Born in Stoughton, she was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Brockton Schools. Mrs. Smith worked as a Sales Clerk for Marshall's in Canton for 15 years before retiring in 2002. In her free time, she enjoyed playing the organ, traveling to Foxwoods, Bingo, family meals and gatherings, Lawrence Welk and reading tabloids.
She is survived by her children, Chester I. Smith of Boston, Noreen F. Pope of Lakeville, Stephen W. Smith of Stoughton, Patricia J. Smith-Allen of W. Roxbury, Mark E. Smith of CA, Deborah A. Connors of Stoughton, David A. Smith of WA and Thomas J. Smith of Foxboro. She was the sister of Mildred Nardelli of Brockton, Mary Lou Brophy and William Minuchi, Jr. both of Stoughton. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton, on Monday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-6 PM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton Donations in Florence's memory may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation, 1220 East Joppa Rd.
