Filomena (Salvador) Camara, 84, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, April 29. She was the wife of the late Lucio F. Camara. Born and educated in Flores, Azores, Portugal, she was a resident of Stoughton for the past 44 years. Mrs. Camara worked at Morse Shoe in Canton for many years before retiring 20 years ago. In her free time she enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Mrs. Camara is survived by her son, Jose F. Camara and his wife Lurdes of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, Wendy Sousa, Jeffrey and Christopher Camara and her great-grandchildren, Devin, Nathan and Victoria Sousa. She was the sister of Joao Salvador of New Bedford, Elisa Freitas and Manuel Salvador both of the Azores and the late Natalia Rodrigues, Lidwina Coelho, Maria Fernandes, Jose Salvador, Joaquina Rodrigues and Antonio Salvador.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, May 3 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Filomena's name may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
