Evelyn L. (Batchelder) Buschenfeldt

Evelyn L. (Batchelder) Buschenfeldt of Mashpee, formerly of Stoughton, passed away on March 7, 2024 at the age of 94. Born in Stoughton, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Ralph and Madeline (Fobes) Batchelder. She was the wife of the late Anton S. Buschenfeldt who died in 2010.Together they shared over 62 years of marriage and raised three beloved sons.

Evelyn was raised in Stoughton and was a member of Stoughton High School Class of 1946. She was the original Business Manager for the Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton and was pivotal in the financial operation of the school from its infancy, construction and opening in 1967. In 1979, Evelyn and her husband moved to Mashpee where they became very involved in the community. She was a member of the Mashpee Environmental Coalition, Mashpee Beautification Council and Friends of the Mashpee Library, to name a few. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family, living on the pond and working in her flower gardens.

Evelyn was the mother of the late Craig and his surviving wife Kathy of Brockton, Kirk and his wife Anne of Natick, and Karl and his wife Kimberly of Bridgewater. She was the beloved Nana of Kim Chermesino (Joe), Tracey Keisch (Jason), Mark Buschenfeldt, David Buschenfeldt (Lydia), Amy Abdalla (Kareem) and Sarah Stewart and loving Nani of Damien Price, Andrew and Lauren Chermesino, Zakaya and Rami Abdalla, Felicity and Abigail Buschenfeldt, Finn Stewart, Kyra, Aliyana and Aiden Strassman. She was the loving sister of Charles Batchelder and his wife Loretta of Middleboro and Auntie Ev to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Richard and Warren Batchelder, sisters Phyllis Conrad and Barbara Clifford, and good friend Gordon Haworth.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Saturday March 23 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM with a service to follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evelyn's memory to the Mashpee Environmental Coalition, P.O. Box 274, Mashpee, MA 02649.
