Eva C. Melo, 94, died peacefully at Country Gardens in Swansea on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Daughter of the late Antonio daCosta Melo and Maria Diamantina (Costa) Melo, she was born and raised in Faial, Azores, Portugal before moving to Stoughton in 1967. She was a resident of Fall River for 11 years after living in Stoughton for 32 years. Eva worked at Quality Steel in Stoughton for 16 years before retiring 30 years ago. She enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening and flowers.
Eva is survived by her sister, Elsa P. Medeiros and her husband Manuel of Pawtucket, RI, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 21 brothers and sisters.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, January 4 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
