Eva E. (Stronach) Burton

Eva E. (Stronach) Burton, 93, a longtime resident of Hanson, died peacefully on Thursday morning, January 17. She was the wife of the late George Burton. Born in Boston, she was educated in Roxbury schools and graduated from Jeremiah Burke High School. Mrs. Burton was an inspector for Diane Controls for 20 years and the Foxboro Company for 15 years before retiring at age 62. She was very active and passionate volunteer in Hanson's senior community. She served as the President of the Senior Steppers, appointed to the Selectmen's Aging Advisory Council, and was on the board of the Old Colony Elderly Services. She was an advocate for the handicapped and volunteered at Brockton's Life Center for 30 years.

Mrs. Burton was the mother of Donna A. Unda and her husband Walter of NH, George J. Burton and his wife Marie of S. Boston, Catherine C. Wozniak and her husband Joseph of Walpole, Mary T. McDonald and her husband Michael of Stoughton and the late Richard Burton. She was the sister of Kathleen Miskell of Southbridge, Elizabeth "Janet" Sturgis of Westwood and the late Florence Kimball, Mary Winsor, Marjorie, Charles, Norman, Joseph and Clifford Stronach. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, January 22 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Eva's memory may be made to the Life Center for the Handicapped, 54 Haverhill St., Brockton, MA 02301.
