Ethel E. (Bystrom) Manning, 81, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Waino E. Manning Jr. Born in Skoghall Varmland, Sweden, she was raised and educated there. At the age of 21, she came to the United States and soon settled in Stoughton, where she lived for over 55 years. She was a homemaker. An animal lover, in her free time, she enjoyed playing piano, cooking, baking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children; Edward W. Manning and his wife Catherine of Sandwich, John R. Manning and his wife Simone of Stoughton, Patricia M. Manning of MS and Cynthia E. Manning of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Kerry Manning, Shane Manning, Catherine Manning and Stephanie Castellarin.
Graveside Services will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery, 950 Pleasant St., Stoughton on Monday, December 6, at 11 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in her memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Pl, Boston, 02215.
