Ethel L. (Liponis) Filides, 86, died at Southeast Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Easton on Monday, July 2 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late William Filides. A lifelong resident of Brockton, she was educated in Brockton Schools. Mrs. Filides was a cashier at California Market in Brockton and various Christy's Market's in the area for many years. She was an active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton.
Mrs. Filides is survived by her sister, Alice M. Carabatsos of Stoughton, her brother, William Liponis of NH, 5 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Amelia Giannaros.
Private funeral services were held followed by burial at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
