Esther I. Powell

Esther I. (Schaller) Powell, 95, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at West Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on Sunday, February 23. She was the wife of the late Walter B. Powell. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of the late John and Betty Schaller. Esther was educated in Quincy schools and graduated from North Quincy High School. She was a resident of Stoughton for 70 years. Mrs. Powell was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Woman's Club at First Congregational Church in Stoughton. She enjoyed reading in her free time.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her children, Ralph J. Powell and his wife Janet of Brockton, Linda L. Baskin and her husband Bob of California and Jeffrey S. Powell and his wife Sharon of Illinois. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Barbara Baskin, Bonnie Gilmore, Christine Thomson, Brian and Lee Powell, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Andrew and Joshua.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, February 27 at 7 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Esther's memory may be made to First Congregational Church, 76 Pierce St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
