Emily (Russo) Gichel

Emily (Russo) Gichel, 96, a resident of Buzzards Bay, died peacefully at Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Buzzards Bay on Saturday, November 30, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Chester Gichel for 67 years. Daughter of the late Emilio and Antoinetta (Todesco) Russo, she was born in Hingham and raised in Stoughton. Emily worked at JP Plastics in Stoughton for many years before retiring in 1976. She was a resident of Raynham for 40 years before moving to Buzzards Bay in 2017. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, working in her yard and camping in Rochester, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Emily is survived by her children, Donna M. Howard of Onset and Kenneth M. Gichel of East Taunton, as well as her grandchildren, Lauren Emily Baker and her husband Justin and Eric K. Gichel and her great-grandchildren, Dylan and Lucas Baker. She was the sister of Rose Russo of Buzzards Bay, Babe Russo of Easton and the late Alfred, Patsy, Peter, Tootsie and Sonny Russo and Helen Smyth.
