Emily M. (Brown) Churchill

Emily M. (Brown) Churchill, age 81, passed away on May 26, 2024, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Born in Stoughton, she was the daughter of the late Charles Brown and Mary A. (Coveny) Brown and was predeceased by her husband Francis Churchill. She was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a longtime resident before moving to Brockton for 23 years, and more recently to Abington, living there for 4 years with her son Frank. Emily was a devoted and doting mother to her children, and was solely a homemaker, raising her family and taking care of her home. She cared deeply for her family and was the matriarch and glue that held everyone together. Her son Frank was her primary caretaker throughout her later years of life, along with the help of his brother John. She enjoyed watching sitcoms on TV, going to the casino, playing bingo, indulging in any dessert to satisfy her sweet tooth, and was an avid animal lover.

Emily is survived by her children Kevin Belcher, John C. Belcher, James E. Belcher, Francis B. Belcher, Donna J. Churchill, and Russell R. Churchill. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda, Kelly, Shane, Blake, Lacy, Mercedes and Noah, and was the great-grandmother to several. She was preceded in death by her siblings John Charles Brown and Doris Churchill.

Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Friday May 31st from 10-11 AM, with Funeral Prayers at 11 AM. Interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://act.alz.org/
