Emilia G. (Castelo) Rodrigues, 85, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Eduino A. Rodrigues. Born in Flores, Azores. Portugal, she was raised and educated in Flores. She came to the United States in 1971 and settled in Stoughton where she has lived since. Mrs. Rodrigues worked as a Machine Operator for several area businesses including Ark-Les Switch and Analog Devices. She was a devoted communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and a member of the Society of the Holy Ghost. She was known for her collection of hats and in her free time enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
She was the mother of Edwino A. Rodrigues of Mexico, the mother in law of Laura M. Rodrigues of Norton and the grandmother of Cynthia A. Rodrigues, Edwino F. Rodrigues, Raul Rodrigues and Edwin Rodrigues. She was the sister of Gabriel Castelo, Maria Lucio, Clara Vieira and Luisa Mendonca all of Stoughton, Benjamin Castelo of NY, Teresinha Earley of NJ, Tony Castelo of FL, David Castelo of Canada, Francisco, Manuel and Joao Castelo all of Portugal and the late Jose, Luis and Daniel Castelo. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Noah and Mikayla Rodrigues and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Friday at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Mass at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday from 8:30 AM to 10 AM. Donations in her name may be made to the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Disease Patient Activity Fund, 1044 Park St., Stoughton, 02072.
