Elmer T. Jones

Elmer T. Jones, Jr., 86, died at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Wednesday, November 23 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Evelyn M. (Nilsen) Jones, who died Monday, September 3, 2001. Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, Mr. Jones graduated from North Quincy High School and then from Boston University in 1940 as Cum Laude in Business Administration. Mr. Jones was a resident of Stoughton since 1968. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Jones worked for Algonquin Gas Transmission Co. in Brighton for over 25 years. He then was an Insurance Manager for Bay State Gas Co. in Canton for 10 years before retiring 20 years ago. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was an avid Red Sox fan and loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Jones is survived by his daughters, Carol Ann Jones of Brockton and Ellen Marion Woody of Stoughton as well as his grandchildren, Isaac Owen, Amos Owen and his wife Meredith and Ezra Owen. His first great-grandchild is due in May.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday at 3 PM. Visitation prior from 2-3 PM. Interment will be private at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.
