Ellen F. (Alexander) Lunsford, 84, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Baypointe Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on Wednesday, March 28. She was the wife of the late William R. Lunsford. Born in Cambridge, she attended Cambridge High and Latin School and graduated from Watertown High School. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years before moving to Brockton months ago. Mrs. Lunsford worked at Malcolm & Parsons Insurance Company in Stoughton for over 30 years before retiring 25 years ago. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Stoughton Women's Club. Mrs. Lunsford was active at the First United Methodist Church in Stoughton and participated in many church fundraisers. She volunteered at Share Food Pantry in Canton for many years. An avid baker and seamstress, she also enjoyed arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed her many trips to North Carolina and time spent with her beloved grandson, Bill.

Mrs. Lunsford is survived by her children, William R. Lunsford, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Bridgewater and Ellen J. Gordon and her husband Brent of Sanford, NC, as well as her grandson, William Gordon. She was the sister of Herbert Alexander of RI, Lorraine Alexander, Louise Keach and Lucille Keach all of TX. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, April 2 at 7 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellen's memory may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 103 Pleasant St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
