Ellen M. (Fullerton) Gill, 78, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home, under the care of Old Colony Hospice, after a period of declining health. Born in Boston, the oldest of 8 children of the late Paul M. and Albertina (Morrissey) Fullerton, she was raised and educated in Stoughton and a graduate of St. Patrick's School in Brockton and the Licensed Practical Nurse program at Southeastern Regional Technical School. In 1963, she married Charles A. Gill at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton, and together they enjoyed over 58 years of marriage and raised their beloved son Tim. Mrs. Gill was a longtime resident of Stoughton, who previously lived in Marshfield for over 25 years. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at several area healthcare facilities, including the Goddard Hospital in Stoughton, Jordan Hospital in Plymouth and at Scituate Ocean Manor Nursing Home in Scituate. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and was active in their Eucharistic Ministry Program and was also active in the Franciscan Third Order. Ellen loved to bake and was known for her delicious Banana Bread and Banana Bars, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Christmas Cookies, and loved to cook her famous Swedish Meatballs. A lover of dogs and birds, in her free time, she enjoyed reading religious history books and spending time with her beloved family.
In addition to her husband Chuck, Ellen is survived by her son Timothy M. Gill and his wife Boo-Jah Gill of Utah; and her siblings: Patricia Cole of Dennis, Paul " Sonny" Fullerton of Carver, Michael J. Fullerton, Janet R. Ormond and Mark F. Fullerton all of Stoughton, Theresa Martinkus of Fall River and Jeanne M. Layton of Florida. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, July 26 at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM.
